Dr. Sanjay Kaul is a cardiologist at the Cedars-Sinai Heart Institute in Los Angeles where he serves as the director of the Cedars-Sinai/VA Greater Los Angeles Fellowship Training Program in Cardiovascular Diseases. He is a professor of medicine at the Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Dr. Kaul serves on several national committees of the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, the FDA Cardiorenal Advisory Committee, the Institute of Medicine Comparative Effectiveness Research Methodology Committee, and the NIH study section on Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering. He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Boards of the International Congress of Coronary Artery Disease and the International Society of Heart Failure. He is also a Fellow of the American Heart Association Councils on Circulation and Arteriosclerosis and Thrombosis, and a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology. Dr. Kaul is an expert in multiple areas of clinical cardiology ranging from preventive cardiovascular medicine, coronary artery disease, and cardiac intensive care. His research interests lie in the fields of thrombosis and vascular biology, acute coronary syndromes, clinical trial methodology and evidence-based medicine. He has authored over 250 manuscripts, abstracts and book chapters. He is a recipient of the AHA Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Award, the AHA Young Investigator Award, the American Federation of Clinical Research Training Investigator Award, and Distinguished Physician Award of the American Association of Cardiologists of Indian Origin.
