Needs Assessment

1. Review ECG characteristics that lead to a proper diagnosis of arrhythmias.

 

2. Educate on the concept of the new AFib Center of Excellence from diagnosis to treatment and how it will facilitate patient care.

 

3. Discuss current indications and illustrate some of the basic techniques of cardiac catheter ablation to cure a variety of arrhythmias.

 

4. Review the recent guideline-directed use of antithrombotics for stroke reduction.

 

5. Review data on the various pros and cons of the two treatment strategies: rate vs. rhythm in patients with AFib.

 

6. Educate on how to risk-stratify patients with syncope into those with and without high risk for sudden death.

 

7. Describe latest guideline-directed indications for ICD therapies.

 

8. Identify and review genetic syndromes and disorders in pediatric patients.

 

9. Inform on current areas of difficult heart failure and arrhythmia management.

 

10. Review treatment strategies for late stage HF patients.

 

11. Describe cardiac resynchronization and patients most likely to benefit.

 

12. Discuss approach and indications for surgical options for HF.
