Cardiology has witnessed a remarkable number of advances in recent years that have led to a reduction in mortality and morbidity for patients. The advancing age of the population and success with therapies for acute cardiac diseases have resulted in an ever-increasing population of patients with heart disease. As such, family physicians, internists, gynecologists and subspecialty physicians along with nurses, physician assistants and nurse practitioners, need reliable sources of up-to-date information to care for their patients with cardiovascular disease. The Update in Cardiology program is designed for the needs of such an audience. The program is intended as a review of current guidelines, best practices and new developments in the field of cardiovascular medicine and the course content is tailored to the practicing physician.

Target audience

Internal medicine, family practice, OB/GYN and primary care physicians, RNs, NPs, pharmacists, physician assistants and health care professionals.

Method of teaching

Morning and afternoon didactic sessions with interactive debates and case presentations.

Evaluation method

Audience will fill out a course evaluation which will be tallied and reviewed for future symposiums.
